Holiday Catch Up

Well, there's a lot to catch up on--it's been a month since I last wrote. Suffice it to say that the trip to Rochester was wonderful, Christmas was merry, and we rang in the New Year quietly at home again in Seattle. We'll tell you the rest in pictures:

Out to get Sophia's first Christmas tree. Don't worry, Brian's there, too; he's taking the picture.

Lauren helping her dad cut down the chosen tree.

Happy family at the Christmas tree farm. Isn't Sophia adorable in her snowsuit?
"I like this snow stuff."

The tree all decorated on Christmas morning.
"Merry Christmas, Grammie!"

Is there anything sweeter than a child's eyes shining on Christmas morning?

Stocking time!

Meeting Great-Grandma Carlberg on Christmas Day.

Making funny faces at Aunt Krissy.

Playing at the Carlberg Christmas party.

Meeting Great-Grandpa Carlberg.

Lauren and Lanie at a girls' holiday tea with me, my mom, and Sophia.

Making a cute "Charlie Brown" smile while hanging out with Auntie Stephanie.

Dad came up later in the week to celebrate with us. Here he is with Sophia and her Aunt Meghan.

On December 28th, Sophia had her first solid food. Rice cereal...mmm...

2008 is shaping up to be a pretty good year thus far...all 17 days of it. Sophia is now 6 months old. My goodness! How time flies. We brought her in for her 6-month check-up on Tuesday, and she is growing steadily and seems to be developing right on schedule. Her new favorite thing to do is blow raspberries at us. She especially likes when you blow them back! She's also begun babbling quite a bit. She enjoys showing off this new talent at church on Sundays. Randy concluded that he didn't mind that she liked to preach when he's preaching...he just minds that she's better at it! What a joker. But, it's so wonderful having a church who really embraces our littlest members.

Health and blessings to all!
